Terms of Service
Effective from: 2026-08-14 · Version: 2
1. Who we are and how to contact us
PixLab Studio (PixLab for short) is a brand of Printerpix. It is not a separate company. Your contract is with:
PRINTERPIX UK LTD 8th Floor Capital House, 25 Chapel Street, London, England, NW1 5DH, United Kingdom Registered in England & Wales, company number 09509388. VAT number GB215663611.
You can contact us at [email protected].
2. These terms
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give you notice before it takes effect and tell you what has changed. Changes are not retrospective: the version you accepted governs everything you did before a new version took effect.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
3. What the Service does
PixLab lets you generate and edit images using artificial intelligence. You upload photographs or describe what you want, and the Service produces images in response.
The Service works by generation, not reproduction. Each result is produced afresh, and running the same request twice will not produce the same image. Variation between results is how the Service works, not a fault in it.
Printing is a separate contract. If you choose to print an image, that order is placed with Printerpix and is governed by Printerpix's own terms and conditions. PixLab creates the image; Printerpix prints and delivers it.
4. Your account and your age
You must be 18 or over to use PixLab. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, and we do not create an account for anyone below that age.
We ask because PixLab is available in countries whose rules on children's data differ, and because the Service accepts uploaded photographs of people. A single age for every country is simpler and clearer than a different rule in each.
Your date of birth is used only to check your age. We do not use it for marketing.
You need a Printerpix account to use PixLab. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
5. Tokens
5.1 What tokens are
Tokens are a prepaid means of accessing the Service. Tokens are not money, are not electronic money, and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged between accounts. They have no cash value except where this agreement or your statutory rights say otherwise.
5.2 The four kinds of token
- Purchased tokens — bought in a package.
- Bonus tokens — included with some packages in addition to the tokens you pay for.
- Promotional tokens — given as part of an offer or by our support team.
- Free tokens — given when you sign up.
Bonus, promotional and free tokens are given at our discretion. We may set and change how and when they are released, and whether they expire. Purchased tokens are not affected by this.
5.3 We spend your free tokens first
When you use the Service we take tokens in this order: free, then bonus, then promotional, then purchased.
This is deliberately in your favour — it protects the tokens you paid for, which are the ones you can get a refund on.
5.4 Purchased tokens do not expire
Purchased tokens do not expire while your account is open. If you close your account, see §11.
5.5 Bonus tokens are held before you can spend them
Bonus tokens included with a purchase are held for 14 days and become spendable when that period ends. Until then you will see them in your account marked as pending, with the date they unlock.
This is because a purchase can be cancelled during that period. If you cancel any part of a purchase, we cancel ALL of its held bonus tokens. Bonus tokens that have already been released are removed in proportion to the refund — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Prices
6.1 Package prices
We may change the price of token packages at any time. A change to package prices never affects tokens you have already bought.
6.2 How many tokens a feature costs
Each feature costs a number of tokens. The cost is shown in the Service before you commit to a generation, so you always know the price before you spend.
We may change how many tokens a feature costs when the costs we pay to the providers of the underlying AI models change. If we do:
- an increase will be no more than our own cost increase, measured from the last time we adjusted that feature;
- if our costs fall, we will reduce the token cost in the same way;
- because token costs are whole numbers, adjustments are made in whole tokens and rounded in your favour;
- we will give you at least 30 days' notice before an increase takes effect, and during that period the existing cost continues to apply;
- the notice will tell you what is changing and why;
- if you do not accept an increase, you may request a refund of your unspent purchased tokens within the notice period. We treat your oldest purchase as used first, so we refund the price you actually paid for the tokens remaining, to your original payment method where possible and otherwise by an arrangement we agree with you;
- a reduction takes effect as soon as we can apply it, and needs no notice; and
- we will never change the cost of a generation that is already running or queued.
7. What we promise about outputs, and what we do not
Results vary, and we do not promise you will like them. Outputs are generated by AI, differ between runs, and reflect an interpretation of your request rather than a specification you have set.
We do stand behind the Service itself. If the Service fails — a corrupted or unusable file, a feature that does not do what the interface says it does, a generation that fails for technical reasons — we will re-run it or refund the tokens.
If a generation fails, we return the tokens automatically. This includes generations stopped by the AI provider's content filters. You do not need to ask.
None of this limits your statutory remedies. If what we supply is faulty or not as described, you have rights under consumer law that these terms do not reduce, and re-running or refunding tokens is in addition to those rights, not instead of them.
8. What you upload
You must have the right to upload what you upload.
You confirm that, for every image you upload, you either own it or have permission to use it — and that where it shows other people, you have their agreement to use their image in this way.
You must not upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that breaches our Acceptable Use Policy.
9. The images you create
9.1 What you may do with them
You may use the images you create commercially — sell them, print them, publish them, use them in your business. We grant you all the rights we hold in your outputs, and we will not assert rights in them against you.
These rights are permanent and cannot be withdrawn. They continue even if you close or delete your account, or if we stop offering the Service.
We put it that way because copyright in AI-generated images is unsettled and differs by country. A promise that you "own" them could be worth less than it sounds; a promise that you may use them freely, and that we will not come after you, is one we can actually keep.
Where your image shows an identifiable person, see §9.2.
9.2 What our grant cannot reach: other people
We can only give you rights that are ours to give. Where your image shows an identifiable person, that person has rights in their own likeness which are not ours to grant.
So: you must not sell, license, or use in advertising any image showing an identifiable person unless you have that person's permission. This applies whether the person is a stranger, a friend, or a member of your family. For your own image, you decide.
Using such an image for yourself — printing it, keeping it, sharing it with the people in it — is unaffected.
9.3 Two further limits, which come from the AI providers
We cannot grant you more than the providers of the underlying models grant us. So:
- You may not use outputs to train other AI models.
- You may not use outputs to build a public image bank or stock library.
9.4 What we may do with them
We keep the rights we need to run the Service: to store, process, transmit, back up and print your images so that we can deliver what you asked for and fulfil any order you place. Without this we cannot operate.
We will not use your creations in our own advertising or promotion unless you agree separately. That is a different thing from delivering your order, and we will ask for it on its own rather than bundling it into these terms.
10. Reporting illegal content
If you believe content on the Service is illegal, contact us at [email protected] and we will review it. We will tell you what we decide and why.
11. Closing your account, and deleting your data
These are two different things with two different outcomes.
11.1 Closing your account
Your balance is preserved and restored if you reopen the account with the same email address.
We keep it for at least 6 years. Before that period ends we will try to contact you, more than once, to tell you what will happen and by when. Logging back in is enough to keep your balance. If we cannot reach you, the balance is forfeited at the end of the period.
We verify the email address when you reopen, because addresses can change hands.
11.2 Deleting your data
Deletion is permanent and removes your account and its contents.
Save any images you want to keep before you delete. Deletion destroys our copies and we cannot recover them. The rights you have in images you have already saved are unaffected — see §9.1.
- If you have a purchase still within its 14-day cancellation period, you can cancel it as part of deleting your account and we will refund it.
- Otherwise, any remaining token balance is lost. We will tell you this clearly before you confirm.
- If you would rather not lose it, you can spend it first, or close your account instead, which keeps it.
12. If we change or withdraw the Service
We may change the Service, and we may stop offering it or any individual feature.
If we withdraw PixLab entirely while you hold tokens, we will give you at least 60 days' notice. Your balance stays usable throughout, and at the end we refund your unspent purchased tokens. We will not switch it off and keep the money.
If we retire an individual feature, we will give you at least 30 days' notice. Your tokens keep their value and can be used on everything else, so no refund arises. But if a feature we retire was substantially what you used PixLab for, contact us within 30 days of our notice and we will treat it as a withdrawal for you.
13. Chargebacks
If you dispute a payment with your bank or card provider, we will place your account in read-only mode while it is resolved: you keep access to everything you have already created, but tokens cannot be spent and no new purchases can be made. Normal access resumes when the dispute is settled.
Please contact us first — we can usually resolve things faster than a bank dispute.
14. Our responsibility for loss or damage
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for any liability under data protection law, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100.
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, or loss of goodwill.
15. General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another company. Your rights under these terms are not affected.
If you have a complaint, contact us at [email protected] and we will try to resolve it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
16. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right to cancel described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
